What keeps you motivated to write?

Let’s say you’re trying to write 1,000 words a day, every day—not uncommon for a writer hard at work on a novel—and you’re succeeding.

Or you’ve set out some kind of regular writing schedule for yourself, and by golly, you’re sticking to it.

What keeps you going? And what’s your advice to another writer who’s losing motivation?

Oh, and coffee (no matter how faithful a companion) doesn’t count for the purposes of our discussion.

Let’s hear your answers below. Your words could really help other writers!
