The Challenge has changed! Now you can focus on the words

It’s official! The 10K Word Count Writing Challenge starts March 1, and you can sign up here.

But it’s slightly different. Previously, the challenge involved inviting 10 people to read your work, but that requirement has been dropped.

Why? Because I want you to focus solely on the writing—all 10,000 words’ worth.

Bring your outlines, character sketches, even passages you’ve already written. As long as you write 10,000 words during the Challenge month, you’ll be eligible for an award.

This is your chance to make some headway on your novel, and maybe even become an award-winning writer in the process!

By the way, you’re still welcome to invite anyone you want to read your work—and give feedback—but it’s not a requirement

Many of your Challenge-related questions are answered here, and you can also officially register.

But hurry—this Challenge starts Wednesday!
