That’s right, it’s the 10K Novel-Building Challenge, and this time, the stakes have been raised.
Instead of a month, you now have just one week to write 10,000 words.
Can you do it? I believe you can. You’ve dreamed of writing a novel, and now’s your chance to make a breakthrough and soar to new heights as a writer.
In the first week, you’ll write 10,000 words. After that, you’ll have the opportunity to read other writers’ stories and offer feedback, while they do the same for you. You’ll revise your chapters and add new ones as the month goes on.
What you’ll end up with is a strong foundation for an excellent novel.
You can do this. And with the help and support of all of the writers and readers in our ChapterBuzz community, you’ll be unstoppable!
The Challenge has 5 parts:
1. First week: Write 10,000 words
The pressure’s on! Pour yourself a steaming mug, snuggle up in your writing nook, and lay down 1,500 words every morning for the first 7 days.
2. Second week: Critique Week
You’ve worked hard, so let’s slow things down. Now, kick back and read the stories of other Challenge participants! This week, you’ll read their novels-in-progress, “Buzz” their chapters, and give feedback on their work. Meanwhile, they’ll be doing the same for you.
3. Third week: Revise!
Revise your existing chapters based on the feedback you’ve received, and continue to add more chapters to your novel.
4. Fourth week: …
Week 4 is…well, it’s a surprise! Enter the Challenge now to get in on the secret.
5. Last few days: Awards
It’s awards time! Three deserving writers will be presented with awards for their work. I want you to be one of them!
At the end of October, you’ll have a strong foundation to build on, so that you can write the rest of your novel more quickly and more easily.
But the end of the Challenge is only the beginning. After October, continue writing and posting new chapters on ChapterBuzz so you can build your readership and become one of our Top Authors!
