Standing out in the literary world is no easy feat when you’re a self-published author. If readers aren’t familiar with your work, they may be hesitant to take a chance on you.
Plus, there are so many books competing for attention that readers sometimes don’t even know where to look.
That’s why I’m putting together the Discovery List, a simple spreadsheet of self-published books that are worth the read—and worth readers’ hard-earned cash.
But I need the very people who wrote these books to let me know they exist!
If you’re the author of a self-published book, we’d love for you to add it to our Discovery List. I plan to share it with everyone once we have 100 books on the list and 5,000 readers on this blog (currently 4,700).
To really make a splash on the list, you can submit a Discovery Press Kit, which is your book’s information along with a positive review about it.
The Discovery List uses reviews and testimonials to let people know that others have already read your book and liked it. This form of “social proof” goes a long way in attracting more readers.
